Custom Firmware for your PSP
By Ataxic Wolf

Note that this procedure does flash to your PSP's memory. Therefore you risk
BRICKING YOUR PSP! By using this tutorial you agree not to hold me responsible for any
damage to your PSP, or any legal trouble you come into whatsoever.

What is this tutorial for?

This tutorial will teach you how to get custom 2.71 SE-B firmware for you PSP.

What do I need in order to do this?

You need to have a PSP which currently has 1.5 firmware. You will also
need a program which i will show you where to download later in the tutorial.
To check your PSP's firmware, go to the main menu, then settings, system settings
then go to system information. Make sure it says 1.5 there. Also you should
know how to add homebrew to your PSP, if you don't, then contact me: ataxicwolf@aol.com
and I'll help you out.

What are the risks?

When you perform a flash of your PSP's firmware, you ALWAYS risk bricking your
PSP. I have used this program on my PSP and i feel it is relatively safe, however
by using this tutorial you agree NOT to hold me responsible for any damage to your
PSP whatsoever.

Some things you should do:

Before you upgrade to 2.71 SE-B, you should research what the difference is
between this and 1.5, and if you willing to take the risk of bricking your PSP.
You should do this because although this change isn't completely permanent,
you will take another risk when you go back to 1.5 PSP, if you ever decide to.

How do I do this?

To perform this operation you will need an installer of the 2.71 SE-B custom firmware.
you can get this firmware from: Here Once you have the program, we'll need to do a few
safety checks for your PSP. First, charge it to 100%, also take the UMD out of the UMD drive.
Also keep you AC adapter PLUGGED IN AT ALL TIMES!

Now, run the program you downloaded, and simply go through the instructions,
it's very simple. Once the files have been downloaded to you PSP, go through
the safety checks again, making sure of each one. Then, take out the USB drive,
NOT THE AC ADAPTOR, keep that plugged in. Ok, go to the game menu of your PSP and click
on the program. It should be called something like 2.71 SE-B installer, or
something of the sort. It will load and come up with a screen asking you if you'd
like to upgrade, select yes (whichever button that is). WAIT, AND DO NOT PRESS
ANYTHING! It will automatically restart after everything has been installed.

Congrats, you've got 2.71 SE-B custom firmware
